What is the Enviro Swim System?

The Enviro Swim System is a pool sanitising system that is less harmful, more effective and less expensive than conventional chlorine-based swimming pool systems.

The Enviro Swim System:

• Kills bacteria in water that chlorine does not
• Vastly reduces chemical usage
• Eliminates chemical odors
• Eliminates the need for chlorine in domestic swimming pools

Is it a new technology?

Yes, the ES3 system is a world leader with patents granted or pending in Australia, USA, Europe and Asia.

How safe is the water when I use the Enviro Swim System?

Please refer to our research page where you find the independent laboratory test results highlighting the efficacy of the system. In May 2009 the ES3 system was granted NSF 50 certification in the USA. NSF certification is only granted to products that pass stringent tests which include reliability, microbiological efficacy, safety and pool surface stain resistance. Due to the expense of maintaining NSF certification and the current US finacial climate we have temporary delisted and are not currently certified by NSF.

Does Enviro-Swim come with a warranty?

Yes. For your peace of mind, the Enviro-Swim System has a 2 Year warranty.

What consumable items do I need?

The Enviro Swim System's only consumables are the metal electrodes, which need to be replaced on average once every year to eighteen months.

Do I need to test for the silver-ion level?

Whenever the Copper-ion level is correct, the Silver-ion level will be in range also. The electrodes are an alloy mix of Copper and Silver, so the right proportions are always being released at the same time.

Can the Enviro Swim System be used in commercial swimming pools?

Yes, the Enviro Swim System is used in Commercial Swimming pools, Aquatic Centers, Swim Schools and Resort Pools.

Why should I try to minimise exposure to chlorine?

The growing list of serious health issues associated with exposure to chlorinated water is now overwhelming. The danger comes from chemical by-products in chlorinated water known as trihalomethanes, or THMs When swimming you body absorbs the harmful THMs threefold, through the skin, inhaling and ingestion. Enviroswim was developed to eliminate peoples exposure to chlorine in pools, spas and water features. We encourage you to do your own research. Why should I choose an Enviroswim System over other systems?

The technology is patented. The commercialisation of the technology was approved and granted funding by the Australian Government. Australia is a world leader in swimming pool technology. The published independent efficacy tests were conducted by a NATA government laboratory. More recently the ES3 system was granted NSF 50 certification in the USA. What value for me does NSF 50 and UL certification have?

To gain NSF 50 certification the Enviroswim system had to pass a series of test including:

• Microbiological Efficacy -  proven to meet required standard as a sanitising system for pools and spas.
• Longevity Test - continuous running for 8000 hrs at an ambient temp of 40 degrees C without fault.
• Uniformity of output - system demonstrated reliable reproducibility of output over test period.
• Pool surface staining potential - no staining of pool surface during test period.
• UV and freeze test - components meet UV and freeze test requirements.
• Chemical resistance text - components meet chemical exposure requirements.
• Manuals and Test Kits - meet readability and accuracy standard. 
• UL tests - meet stringent tests for electrical safety of all components.

Is the copper used in Enviroswim harmful to my health or the environment?

No, copper is an essential element, being necessary in various proteins and enzymes. Balance studies on adults suggest an essential daily intake of 1-5 mg. The copper level at which the Enviroswim system operates is only 30% of the maximum recommended Queensland drinking water concentration. You would need to ingest between 3 - 15 litres of pool water to get the recommended daily intake of copper. The copper concentration in the Enviroswim backwash water contains less copper than the waste water from some household municipal water suppliers. The silver content is also well below drinking water guidelines.
